Yesterday, Zohran Mamdani told New Yorkers not to use their air conditioners and today, a whole bunch of roads will be closed down for the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. We can only assume Madison Square Gardens will be nice and chilly all weekend.
Tonight, we light up Union Station in orange and teal for Taylor Swift and red and gold for Travis Kelce.

Thank you, Travis and Taylor, for your incredible generosity today, supporting charities across the nation, including here in Kansas City, and making a lasting impact that… pic.twitter.com/rJUyjhj7qd
Apparently, Taylor and Travis recognize how much this wedding will impose on the lives of some people, so they are trying to do some good and donate a whole bunch of money to charity. That's very kind of them.
You should be honoring our country 250 years with red, white and blue 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Some were angry the light show in Kansas City wasn't red, white and blue for the 250th Anniversary of our country.
We will light in red, white and blue on July 4th. As we do every year and at many other times throughout the year.

They made it very clear they do plan to use that lighting theme for tomorrow's celebration. All is well.
Taylor Swift, who doesn't support borders, walls, guns, or billionaires, sets up a massive wall around MSG with heavily armed security for her billionaire wedding https://t.co/dDdTlFJlaE pic.twitter.com/bamItmOOHy

Others found it odd Taylor openly supported candidates like Biden and Kamala, yet erects walls and borders when it is her own wedding.
In addition to paying for their NYPD security (something that all event organizers pay for, which a Congresswoman should know), Taylor and Travis made an "extraordinary" donation to Answer the Call, a charity that supports the families of fallen police and firefighters. https://t.co/S2japT6Usp pic.twitter.com/5KezQZKkZK

Yes, many officers will spend a great deal of time the next two days ensuring security and keeping the roads shut down, but the happy couple did donate a great deal of money to an organization that helps the families of fallen officers.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce sent their friends home from their wedding rehearsal with some fancy gift boxes ... and it looks like the couple's wedding logo might be stamped on the swag. 👀

Obviously, this is an event most of us can only imagine in our wildest dreams. We won't see the money spent on this one weekend in a lifetime of work. This is the stuff of imagination. It's like a Disney fairy tale.
It's one thing to want all the details and sneak peeks of the day and another to be so envious you lash out. There is way too much of the latter online the last few days.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have donated $26M to more than 20 charities this week ahead of their reported New York wedding. The recipients include:

America is a country that celebrates success. We allow people to spend their money how they see fit. We are thankful when those who are extremely wealthy share their blessings with others, but we never demand or expect it. When we start engaging in the politics of envy, it goes too far. That feels completely Un-American.
