Working at Twitchy, I spend a great deal of time everyday keeping up with the main topics being discussed on Twitter. it's the greatest job ever, really, but sometimes it's depressing. The conversations can be dark and there are some really weird people out there. For example, reading what young Leftists think about the world and how a country should run is often deflating.
That's why 'Europeans visiting America for World Cup' has been a welcome reprieve and my new favorite Twitter genre. We've already talked about Freddy from Germany and he is a hoot, but there are also some other fun entries.
Europeans enjoying the World Cup: “Futbol is the greatest sport in the world.”

Americans enjoying the World Cup: “Wonder what fast food the German guy eats next.”
It's a joy to watch them discover all the delights America has to offer.
Germans falling in love with the American South is the timeline cleanse I didn’t know I needed.

LOOK how I, as a Scottish guy in America for the World Cup, was welcomed to a Texas BBQ - okay sorry other BBQs but Texas takes the lead 🤩🏴🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/gSP6sZVxvK

I really enjoyed Shaun from Scotland enjoying Texas BBQ and some good ol' American hospitality.
As a Scot in America for the World Cup, I can safely say that the beauty of the South is astounding 🤩 pic.twitter.com/DUjKdaVSBa

As a Southern girl, I agree the South is heaven on Earth and the best place to live.
As a Scottish guy in an America for the World Cup, this was one of the greatest honours!! Texas, and San Antonio, is forever in my heart ⭐🇺🇸🏴 pic.twitter.com/Am0xHGzWxH

Can you tell the American from the Scot? You’ll probably be wrong… 🇺🇸🏴 pic.twitter.com/YNLGVQQgxZ

The people in Texas really made their new Scottish friend feel at home. Americans are so kind.
Scottish guy in America for the World Cup, and I discovered Mac n’ Cheese here is just better, by a very large margin! pic.twitter.com/wZsGwIm8QP

This is my favorite of Shaun's travels so far. I was born and reared in Winter Garden (where the macaroni and cheese was made) so I was thrilled to see my hometown represented!
Europeans learning about American heat is my new favorite thing pic.twitter.com/4Wp0zxI58n

We have a heat wave in Florida next week so our European friends will have to be careful.
Thank you, European soccer fans, for reminding us of how great our country is.

With all the political bickering I’m afraid we too often take it for granted.
Your timing was impeccable, on this our 250th birthday, and we are forever in your debt for bringing the beer.
I…
This guys nails it! Great perspective on the newest X trend of Euros reacting to America while we’re just casually living it.

“We take this for granted”, he says.
Damn right we do.
Step back for two seconds, look around at what we’ve got, & quit sleepwalking through the…
This guy nails it. We have so much to be proud of as Americans. Folks like Graham Platner, AOC, Ro Khanna, Ilhan Omar, Barack Obama, and basically most Democrats at this point would have you believe this is a terrible place. No, they are terrible. Their mindset is corrosive. America is still the best country in the world. Believe in American Exceptionalism because we are exceptional.
