Being on social media as a 50 year old white woman with kids in suburbia is very frustrating. Most of my friends and acquaintances are about my same age and people have really lost their minds. They are posting things like: This is Nazi Germany all over again, ICE is arresting any 'Brown Person' they see, Trump is holding illegals and their kids in even worse conditions than murderers', ICE is basically the Gestapo and they are allowed to shoot any American at will and these are the more sane posts. It makes me want to pull my hair out.
ICE officers are doing their best to do their jobs in very difficult circumstances. If Tim Walz and Jacob Frey would comply with ICE, there wouldn't have to be these insurrections in the street. There wouldn't be innocents getting caught up in the mayhem. All of this could be avoided if ICE could do targeted pick ups and didn't have to go through communities searching for their targets.
How hard is it for the Trump administration to message this? They need a war room, not some Truth Social posts.

I fear the Trump Administration realizes they are currently losing the PR War and rather than correct course, they will just pull out of Minnesota and forget it. That's what the Left is counting on. They think Trump will back down like he did in the Summer of 2020 when Leftists were burning down cities. Rather than do the hard thing and make the hard choice, the GOP blinked and handled the DNC a big win. If that happens again, Democrats will be certain they can terrorize Republicans any time they want and we'll just give up.
If Trump were to "pause" ICE operations in Minneapolis, the victory for the left would make it impossible to do immigration enforcement operations anywhere in the country. The left will know they can shut down ICE and the mob can rewrite American law and defy elections.

Americans had four years of Biden, Democrats and open borders after one Trump term. America decided they didn't like that and handed the White House BACK to Trump. They wanted walls and secure borders. Trump was very clear about what he would do and the voters said they agreed. Minnesota doesn't get to 'sit this one out' and refuse to follow federal law.

Hopefully, the Trump Administration plans to dig in and not let up. That's the only way for Democrats to know they must honor elections.
