Today, the terrible news came we had lost a giant on Conservative Twitter. If 'The Conservatives Own Twitter' (#TCOT), Nathan Wurtzel was one of the reasons. If you know that hashtag, you really have been on Conservative Twitter a very long time. Nathan was the voice of reason who could also put trolls in their place effortlessly. He was beloved and a needed voice in the Republican party right now. This is a massive loss and a huge blow.
Nathan described himself as a ZIonist in his Twitter bio. He loved Israel and the events of the past weeks had to have broken his heart.
Nathan Wurtzel just passed away suddenly.

K'far Aza is a collective village or kibbutz located in Southern Israel on the Gaza border (name literally means Gaza City). I visited in 2013 and was guided by a remarkable woman named Chen Kotler.
It has stayed with me ever since and when something goes wrong, I am always anxious for their safety.
— Nathan Wurtzel (@NathanWurtzel) October 13, 2023
I feared Saturday, October 7, would come someday. It did.
You've seen it on the news, or read about it. K'far Aza has been utterly destroyed and is an off-limits military zone.
As of yesterday, 42 residents have been murdered, 26 are not counted for, and 9 are captives in Gaza. At the time of the terrorist attack, about 600 residents were present.

Fortunately, Chen and her entire family have miraculously survived and so I was able to hear about it from her last night. It was hard.

Chen and the survivors of the village of K'far Aza are refugees in their own country. They have lost EVERYTHING. I would like to help them by raising $5,000 from my friends. I am starting it off with $500.

This will go to food, clothing, and shelter - things like that - and just for the survivors of Kfar Aza.https://t.co/v1gBHtZaTW
— Nathan Wurtzel (@NathanWurtzel) October 13, 2023
Please give generously and share this with your friends. Chen and the K'far Aza survivors will live this nightmare for the rest of their days, but we can do this small thing to ease it a tiny bit.

As you can see, Nathan spent his last days trying to help people who lost everything in Israel. That was his character.
Aw man. What a truly great human. You will be greatly missed @NathanWurtzel. I can’t believe it. https://t.co/vTUUAF0SVj

One of the last things @NathanWurtzel tweeted was this fundraiser for Kfar Azza. Please donate in his memory. https://t.co/KeBolb4dL3

.@NathanWurtzel was a friend. We didn't see each other often but we were friends. He had lost his mom a while back and the pictures of me and my mom, the screenshots of our video chats when she's away, our time together f2f, all brought him joy. He will be missed.

Nathan Wurtzel would be proud to know that the world will remember him as a righteous Jew, a stalwart defender of his people, and a man of deep principle. I barely knew him, except for here, but I will, honest to God, miss him more than I would miss any other person on Twitter.

Saddened to hear that @NathanWurtzel died today. Nathan (he didn't want to be called Nate) was a fellow New Jersey guy, a smart political consultant (who didn't burn bridges the way others do), and fiercely loyal to his clients and his friends. He will be missed.

No one was more respected or played the DC beltway game better than @NathanWurtzel.

@NathanWurtzel passed away this morning, and I am...distraught.

He and I have been friends for over a decade, in multiple different settings, online and elsewhere.
I...have no more words.
May his memory be a blessing to his loved ones.
This hits hard. @NathanWurtzel was one of my favorite people on this site. I always enjoyed seeing his comments. This is a loss. https://t.co/FDuoyJHuqb

I have a "Must Read" column next to my Notifications. @NathanWurtzel was one of the first added to it. Seeing his regular, wry observations in it was one of the most reassuring things in this crazy world. https://t.co/vcP50Zlhha
Goodness even knows what led to this exchange, but it’s so us.

Nathan was the very best of men. A 'righteous Jew' in the words of John Podhoretz. A faithful friend. An ethical man in DC when that is few and far between seemingly. He is gone way too soon and the loss is excruciating and looms so large. There truly is no promise of tomorrow. Love your people well. Also, please donate to Nathan's last cause as a way to honor his memory.
