NRCC steps up social media fight against Obamacare with petition web cam and tweeting printer

As the Supreme Court’s Obamacare ruling approaches, House Republicans are using the power of social media to gather signatures on a petition to repeal Obamacare. Another day, another petition, blah, blah, blah. Only this one is different. Here’s what happens after people add their names to the National Republican Congressional Committee petition:

Signers will then be directed to a live video of a computer printer—yes, an actual printer—inside the NRCC office on Capitol Hill where they will watch their name printed in real time on a paper petition.

The printer even has its own Twitter account, @nrccprinter, which will tweet out an announcement that you signed the petition, so long as you have a Klout score over 40. (Klout is an online service that measures online influence.)

The @nrccprinter account debuted last night and does more than just announce petition signers.

The NRCC is also encouraging freedom-loving Americans to use the #IWantRepeal hashtag.
