Video journalism site The Recount, founded by John Heilemann, floated the insane conspiracy theory that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is mimicking former President Donald Trump’s speech and mannerisms ahead of a potential 2024 run.
Watch for yourself (stick around until the end where they both — gasp — use a Sharpie to sign something):

This theory even made it onto “Morning Joe”:

Right? Because this “combination of hand gestures has never occurred in history”:
Stunning. This combination of hand gestures has never occurred in history… until now. Next up, an investigation of Sharpie. https://t.co/tLuWhcsJCL

You could find these same mannerisms from anyone!

But, alas, their job was done and the video is now viral:

Gov. Ron DeSantis “is Trump’s afterbirth”:
As I've been saying, @GovRonDeSantis is Trump's afterbirth. He ran solely on being an obsessed fan of Trump's. He had no platform. He put his toddler in a video building a fake wall to kiss his orange overlord's ring. Now he is tripling down on Trumpism. He must go. #RemoveRon https://t.co/SVACkjDGED

The conspiracy grows!
