WikiLeaks is pushing back on a story just out in the Guardian alleging that former Trump campaign head Paul Manaofrt secretly met with Julian Assange multiple times at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
“@WikiLeaks is willing to bet the Guardian a million dollars and its editor’s head that Manafort never met Assange,” the official WikiLeaks account tweeted:
Remember this day when the Guardian permitted a serial fabricator to totally destroy the paper's reputation. @WikiLeaks is willing to bet the Guardian a million dollars and its editor's head that Manafort never met Assange. https://t.co/R2Qn6rLQjn

From the Guardian:
Exclusive: Paul #Manafort held secret talks with Julian #Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. By me and @yachay_dc in Quito https://t.co/eFeUWTW3Sb

They’re alleging that Manfort met with Assange in 2013, 2015 and most recently in March 2016, which would have been right before he joined the campaign:
Manafort visited the embassy in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016, according to multiple sources and docs. Last visit took place around the time he joined Donald #Trump's campaign https://t.co/eFeUWUdEJJ

But is it even possible to get into the Ecuadorian embassy and not have people know about it? From Eva Golinger, who has met with Assange multiple times:
It's most likely false. I was in that Embassy many times and know the high level of security. Practically impossible that Manafort went there without being registered. And Embassy employees never saw or heard of Manafort visiting Assange. Very strange.

There have to be tapes, no?
Everything in the Ecuador Embassy was taped (video 24/7). It is impossible that Manafort went to see Assange without being registered & taped and without Embassy personnel knowing. I went there many times to see Assange & can attest to the high level of security. https://t.co/HJLAssGfoa
