Melania Trump Is a Class Act ... and a Refreshing Change after Michelle Obama and Jill Biden

For the life of me, I cannot understand why the left hates Melania Trump so much.

Look, I didn't fall off the turnip truck just yesterday. Politics is not only a blood sport, it's the ultimate team sport, and she's on the wrong team. She is married to Donald Trump. Ergo, they have to hate her.

And I also understand that if politicians' spouses get in the game, they become political operatives, and no holds are barred.

But Melania is about as apolitical as they come. Her only real advocacy issue and cause is BE BEST, which raises awareness about children's issues. And not even the so-called 'divisive' children's issues like 'gender-affirming care.' She visits kids in hospitals, and talks about protecting them from opioid and other drug abuse, and about protecting them from online threats. It doesn't get any less controversial than that. At least, it shouldn't.

Much like the last Republican First Lady before her, Laura Bush, Melania has no interest in playing politics. Other than BE BEST, she sees her primary role as raising her son and supporting her husband. For that, the left has posted fake pornographic pictures of her, called her some of the most vile names I've ever heard (and I've heard a LOT of them), and even wished sickness and death for her.

That's probably another reason why they hate her. Objectively speaking, there is no question that Melania is a stunner. But outside of her physical appearance, she is beautiful in other ways: her intelligence, her strength, her warmth, and her love for her family, just to name a few. (And there's no question that love has grown stronger after she saw an assassin try to kill her husband.)

I am tempted to stop this there, as just an appreciation of Melania Trump, but I cannot help but draw the contrast with her two predecessors as First Lady.

And before anyone calls me a hypocrite, both of those women didn't just enter the political arena; they practically leapt into it.

Michelle Obama just seems like a miserable human being. We cover he a lot at Twitchy, particularly with her recent failed podcast, where she demonstrates over and over again how little love she has for Barack Obama. She even seems to resent the 'burden' that her children are for her.

And she absolutely hates America. There is no question about that. This country elevated her and her husband to the highest elected office (twice), has made her rich, and has given her privilege that almost every other woman in America will never experience. Yet all she can do is talk about how she is oppressed and a victim.

There is not an ounce of gratitude in her.

Most of these same characteristics apply to 'Doctor" Jill Biden, but she is even worse. Not only has she demonstrated all of Michelle's least appealing characteristics, but it was clear for the entirety of Joe Biden's term as President that she was manipulating, possibly abusing, him for her own political gain. I will never forget the indelible moment after Biden's disaster of a debate, where she spoke to him like a toddler, or a pet, shouting, 'You answered all the questions,' while he barely even knew where he was.

Jill Biden is pure evil.

She trotted out Joe knowing he had dementia.

Imagine doing that to your spouse?

Ron Klain did not plead the 5th and just answered every single question about it…

It was disgraceful. Worse than that, it showed an inner cruelty that she would continue to put her husband through this ordeal, just so she could get another Vogue cover (and possibly continue to serve as the shadow President along with Hunter).

At Twitchy, we make jokes often about Michelle and Jill's appearance (and appearances). 'Big Mike' jokes, 'Mickey Mouse hairdo' jokes, 'wearing the curtains as a dress' jokes, 'Si say pwadway' jokes, but both of them are not so much ugly on the outside as they are on the inside.

And maybe, ultimately, that is why the left despises Melania Trump. Because she isn't just beautiful on the outside, but also in her character and heart. And she doesn't just love her son and husband, she loves America and Americans.

It is a refreshing change, to say the least; quite possibly the biggest trade-up in First Ladies in American history.

Unlike Michelle Obama, I have always been proud of my country. But it also makes me pretty darn proud to have Melania Trump back by her husband's side in his second term as President.

She is a class act, no matter how much the left hates her.
