Let's Remind the NY Times That 'No One Is Above the Law' After Report About Target of DOJ 'Retribution'

One of the January 6 Committee's "star witnesses" was Cassidy Hutchinson, who made a claim about that day that quickly became a bogus talking point on the Left:

That included “sensational” allegations that the 45th president lunged toward the wheel of his Secret Service SUV, known as “the Beast,” in an attempt to commandeer it from his driver as a mob of his supporters were seeking to halt the certification of the 2020 election on Capitol Hill.

“I’m the f—ing president! Take me up to the Capitol now!” Trump allegedly screamed at the Secret Service agent, according to Hutchinson’s testimony in a live-broadcasted House hearing on June 28, 2022.

Even Jack Smith ended up calling that "secondhand hearsay."

In other words, Hutchinson told a lie. Under oath.

However, we're now supposed to forget about "no one is above the law" and instead view any Justice Department investigation related to this as "retribution," according to the New York Times:

I'm confused.

Are some people supposed to remain "above the law"?

You have to read well into the story before being reminded about the whopper that Hutchinson told the committee while under oath:

The investigation into Ms. Hutchinson began some weeks ago after the Justice Department received a referral from a Trump ally in Congress who accused Ms. Hutchinson of lying to the special House committee that investigated the events of Jan. 6. During explosive televised testimony in June 2022, Ms. Hutchinson, now 29, said that Mr. Trump had encouraged the crowd that gathered to hear him speak near the White House on Jan. 6 to march to the Capitol even though he knew it was armed and could turn violent.

She also claimed that she had heard that Mr. Trump lunged at one of his Secret Service agents in a presidential limo when he was told he could not join his supporters on Capitol Hill. Other testimony later contradicted that assertion.

There are still TDS lefties to this day who refer to that false claim. Even network "journalists" helped spread the BS around:

The "courage to follow her lead" and lie like crazy? Yeah, unfortunately we've seen a lot of that.

"No one is above the law," New York Times!
