After Don Lemon was arrested, the former CNN reporter and latest self-described "journalist" who thinks that entitles him to join and encourage mobs that are breaking laws without consequence retained the services of attorney Abbe Lowell. Lemon's lawyer quickly put out a statement that was almost as hilarious as the arrest itself. You'll notice that nowhere in this statement is it mentioned what Lemon's charged with or where it was being done:
"Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done. The First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role it is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable. There is no more important time for people like Don to be doing this work."
"Instead of investigating the federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of wrongdoing in this case. This unprecedented attack on the First Amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand. Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court."
Lowell's statement said that Lemon was just doing "constitutionally protected work" as a journalist when he joined a mob that stormed a Minneapolis church, disrupted the service and intimidated the congregation. According to one of the charges, Lemon also "physically obstructed" some congregants as they attempted to exit the building. We're now expected to believe that's the kind of "journalism" protected by the First Amendment.
Over the weekend, Lowell did something the Democrats often do: Hope nobody remembers the entirety of the Biden years.
Lowell said the feds did the raid late at night and "wanted it to be terrifying" (via @WesternLensman):
Don Lemon’s attorney Abbe Lowell is outraged by how Lemon was arrested:

“They wanted it to be terrifying. They waited until he went to Los Angeles. They waited until 11:30 at night. There was a bevy of agents."

Yeah, I'm old enough to remember that not only did the FBI storm in early in the morning, but also somehow a certain cable news outlet had been tipped off as well.
It's never happened before, right?? Was CNN news there?? https://t.co/oQGnNaNu4m

Imagine the increased level of the Dem and journo meltdown if Fox News had been tipped off so their cameras could have been at Lemon's arrest.
Kind of what they did to Roger Stone! https://t.co/ZtFwg1eawM

And CNN was, just coincidentally, on the scene before dawn, but now we're to believe that a late night arrest is in any way unprecedented:
The Left certainly hates it when their own playbook gets used against them.
