AP Story on Dems' 'JD Vance Is Weird' Strategy Fails to Note the Backfire and Irony

Journalism meme

You've no doubt already heard about the new narrative push on the Left. "Grave threat to democracy" must have been wearing thin, so all at once Democrats and the media received a fresh talking point in the last couple of weeks: "JD Vance is weird." The Left also throws Trump into that mix if they're feeling saucy.

That line of attack will work great with people who are already going to vote for Harris, who, despite all the phony attempts to make her likeable, remains anything but:

The problem for Dems with the "JD Vance is weird" thing is they don't seem to realize that being called strange and odd by leaders of a collective full of freaks, commies, dimwits and ne'er do wells is a fantastic compliment.

The Associate Press has an entire article that, as usual, sound like most of it could have been written by the DNC.

The "weird" approach seems to be waning because most people realize how stupid it is, but the AP is trying to help keep it going

Vice President Kamala Harris and her Democratic allies are emphasizing a new line of criticism against Republicans — branding Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, as “weird.”

Democrats are applying the label with gusto in interviews and online, notably to Vance’s comments on abortion and his previous suggestions that political leaders who didn’t have biological children “don’t really have a direct stake” in the country.

The “weird” message appears to have given Democrats a narrative advantage that they rarely had when President Joe Biden was still running for reelection. Trump’s campaign, which so often shapes political discussions with the former president’s pronouncements, has spent days trying to flip the script by highlighting things about Democrats it says are weird.

The story makes brief mentions of Republicans Vance and Trump Jr. responding, and quotes a university professor (of course) who said that the Right so far have been "incapable of finding an effective response," which is complete bulls**t.

The AP would never show the kinds of responses that blow the "JD Vance is weird" narrative the Dems have floated right out of the water.

But "JD Vance is weird," or something.

"Trump is weird!"

The "Vance is weird" projection is a lot like the people who just coronated a nominee without a single American casting a vote for her hyperventilating about "threats to democracy."

The Democrats aren't weird, they're dangerous, and that's what the Republicans need to keep focusing on.
