New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo today gave residents of his state an important reminder:
What happens next is up to each of us.
This virus is powerful and every time we think we understand it we learn we don’t.
Government alone can’t keep you safe.
It’s up to you.

But just in case government alone CAN keep people safe, stay-at-home orders have been extended to mid-June, accompanied by phased-in re-openings for certain businesses in parts of the state:

“Government alone can’t keep you safe, unless it can.”
Government can't keep you safe, but it can keep you locked down because reasons. https://t.co/AEhl6B8g2h

"Government can't keep you safe"- Gov. Andrew Cuomo. I totally agree! So…why are we still in lockdown until June 13?

And if it stops on June 13th we’ll be shocked.
Amazing now apply this is to everything and every day life. https://t.co/jAPowgfsWi

"Government alone can't keep you safe." #safety vs #liberty Don't get me started. Fact is it comes down to personal responsibility and our government should not treat it's constituents like we are all third graders. https://t.co/f2iAKJc4qs

The level of condescension and arrogance exhibited by some power-hungry government officials in various parts of the country during the coronavirus outbreak has been stunning.
