The DOJ Inspector General’s report on FISA abuse is expected to be released early next month, but the New York Times previously reported that the IG would “criticize FBI officials but absolve leaders of acting out of anti-Trump bias.”
Today, the Times has a follow-up story that addresses allegations that the FBI put a spy inside the Trump campaign:
Breaking News: A Justice Department review of the Russia investigation is expected to undercut President Trump's claims that the FBI spied on his campaign.https://t.co/12kzaX2cID

The Washington Examiner’s Byron York has noticed the Times’ coverage on this seems to have evolved:

And then here’s a pair of NYTs chasers from earlier this year:
York also took on some blowback:

Oh ffs, the new article directly addresses what Halper and the assistant did
— J.D. Turner (@turndeaux) November 27, 2019
By 'assistant' you mean FBI undercover agent working under alias Azra Turk who approached Trump campaign person Papadapoulos under false pretenses seeking information about Trump campaign? But she wasn't *inside*!https://t.co/MntQkgToSW

We’ll see what’s in the actual IG report when it’s released. The Times’ reporting isn’t based on having seen the actual draft but rather on inside “sources.”
It will be interesting to see how accurate this leaked version of the IG report turns out to be. https://t.co/w01SOTOxMd
