MSNBC’s Joy Reid sparked disgust yesterday after claiming that White House Chief of Staff and Gold Star Father John Kelly “used his son’s death to defend Trump.”
Rep. Frederica Wilson, who’s thrilled to have obtained “rock star” status, along with others, have managed to make Kelly’s remarks all about racism and sexism. Add MSNBC’s Joy Reid to the list.

Wondered when this was going to kick off – unfortunately, it was inevitable. Now Gen Kelly's a born and bred racist.

Yep, Reid really went there, thanks to inspiration from fellow MSNBCer Lawrence O’Donnell:
Wow. @Lawrence scorched General Kelly tonight, including calling out his segregated Boston upbringing and dehumanization of a black woman.
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) October 20, 2017
Wow wow wow. @lawrence noted that Gen. Kelly didn’t even give @RepWilson the dignity of using her name.

Kelly grew up in segregated Boston, in an Irish Catholic neighborhood where women were bullied, not honored, and blacks scorned & rejected.
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) October 20, 2017
.@Lawrence grew up in that same neighborhood. But clearly he grew to become something else.

Yikes.

Shameless as usual. But does Reid even recognize the irony?
John Kelly must be a bigot. You can tell because of his ancestry, religion, and place of birth https://t.co/S6328SFU6s

Gee…I didn't know people from Ireland bully women and hate blacks. Is it just me, or is this a completely racist statement? https://t.co/zvsj0UqMTA

That point will no doubt fly way over her head.
"You know how THOSE people are," said the anti-racist. https://t.co/uuFXdcwU2K pic.twitter.com/OmjkMMTmsQ

I was about to say the same thing about where your parents are from but I'm not a racist https://t.co/fig0BJEcKx

Joy Reid: It's OK to be racist when you're talking about the Irish. https://t.co/s2DHgIt21B

and so it begins. (well, it never stopped, did it) https://t.co/jncsmD5rC0

Ok to trash Irish Catholics based on stereotypes, because it fits the current political narrative.#bigotryontheleft https://t.co/4ROCnipSc8

Irish Catholics.
I'm here shaking my head.
Really .@MSNBC ? You employ & pay this offensive racist? https://t.co/O0hGormSUe— The Media Lies (@MeganSmiles) October 20, 2017
It's like calling the entire city of Boston and it's residents racist sexist bigots. Is that really what you meant to do? https://t.co/iuYhHulPk9

As for Reid comparing Lawrence O’Donnell to John Kelly:
Kelly grew up to be a Marine corps General with medals for distinguished service. Lawrence grew up to be a guy who yells about hammering https://t.co/qZO84jN9JV

Fact check: TRUE.
