'Can I have a Peace Prize too?' Nobel committee mocked for awarding 'good at killing people' president

A new book by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann has quoted President Obama in 2012 telling his advisers in reference to drone strikes that he’s “really good at killing people.”

Is this the Peace Prize recipient the Nobel committee expected?

This is what happens when a decision is based on future expectations rather than past performance. The Nobel committee’s choice in 2009 was not unlike Congress and the president passing a massive law without reading it to find out what’s in it, which happened the following year.

The Nobel Prize committee isn’t expected to rescind Barack Obama’s Peace Prize, perhaps because they’re trying to decide if they should give Kathleen Sebelius a Nobel Prize in Medicine for the design of HealthCare.gov.
