This will be good news for Taylor Lorenz, who is some kind of lizard person and sets her thermostat to something like 90 degrees, but for the rest of us …
It’s that time of year again when the media drags out stories about the evils of air conditioning. Bloomberg declared air conditioning to be “the next big threat” to the planet. Actress Cynthia Nixon said that air conditioning was “notoriously sexist.” “Experts” said to turn off your air conditioning to slow the spread of the coronavirus. And last summer, CNN tried to shame America by using Europe as an example:
“It is self-indulgent to insist on chilly temperatures in the middle of summer,” writes Paul Hockenos on how America can break its dangerous infatuation with air conditioning. https://t.co/1zR0nkqqDo

The U.S. government has recommended that you set your air conditioner to 82 degrees at night an 85 degrees when you leave the house.
It’s that time of year again! If you haven’t yet (I did weeks ago lol), you’ll probably be turning on that AC this week. Tonight on #KAKENews, we’ll explain why govt recommends 82 at night, and 85 when you leave 😳🙅🏼♂️ What do YOU set it at? pic.twitter.com/6uMl7cnAy7

I’d rather live through the night, thanks.

Government can suck on my sweaty testicles.
— GayPatriot (@GayPatriot) May 9, 2023
GTFO with this. I'll set my thermostat to my liking.
— JWF (@JammieWF) May 9, 2023
I set mine at whatever the fuck I want to. The government can eat my entire ass 🖕🏻

I'd love to find out what the thermostats are set to in the homes of the people making those recommendations.
"Comfort for me, but not for thee", I'd bet.

Is this a parody account??
— Deb– Redacted Redacted (@debster7301) May 9, 2023
I wouldn’t do anything the government recommends at this point
— 🇺🇸Rusty Shackelford 🇺🇸 (@Candicerocks1) May 9, 2023
I always check what the government thinks, when deciding what temperature is comfortable for me.

82 degrees!? pic.twitter.com/MRTuz6aajw

Not one government official sleeps at these temps.

Guaranteed.
Also, you show me ONE yes ONE government building or office that is set at those unrealistic settings.

Or politician’s home, limo or private jet
— Cioccolato Bianco™️ (@RealWhiteChoco) May 9, 2023
Or a politician’s homes, as quite a few have more than one. What’s Al Gore’s mansion set at?
