As Twitchy reported, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, along with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his Parental Rights in Education bill, made the phrase “parents’ rights” a dirty word in liberal circles, with Juan Williams saying it was just code for “white race politics.” Teachers have said that the parents’ rights movement is “literally just fascism.”
On Thursday, the House debated the proposed Parental Bill of Rights, and Democrats reacted to it like vampires to a crucifix. A Parental Bill of Rights would leave children dead. MAGA Republicans didn’t want the Holocaust taught in schools, nor that slavery, which Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is still fighting today, was bad. It would terrorize teachers to make them post their curricula online, making them “sacrificial lambs.”
The @HouseGOP just passed the Parents’ Bill of Rights!
Parents should have the right to:
1. Know what their children are being taught.
2. Be heard.
3. See the school budget and spending.
4. Protect their child’s privacy.
5. Keep their children safe.— GOP (@GOP) March 24, 2023
PBS NewsHour had on David Brooks and Washington Post Associate Editor Jonathan Capehart to talk about the Parental Bill of Rights, with Capehart noting it would put a target on the backs of trans kids.
Washington Post Associate Editor Jonathan Capehart tells PBS that Republicans are "putting a target on the backs of trans kids and their families. And so, when I hear parental rights, I think parental rights for whom?" (1/3) pic.twitter.com/nvv6vstRkx

Parental rights for those parents with backward ideas on sex education, most of whom don’t have advanced degrees like teachers, if they graduated from high school at all.
David Brooks pushes back, kind of. He repeats the book banning and not teaching black history non-sense, but adds "if a school is keeping important things about kids secret from the parents, that's going to destroy trust and you’re going to get the reaction we’ve seen." This guy is nuts…you don't have a parental right to sexually exploit your kids
— The Kid (@WakingFrog) March 25, 2023
Uhhhh parents? You seem to be childless to ask such a silly question

Mainstream media like the @washingtonpost are mouthpieces for Democrats. Their nonsensical talking points are identical. https://t.co/jBuUD8S2HT

Does he have kids in public school? Skin in the game, as they say? Why do Democrats have such a horrible perception of parents of schoolchildren? Parents are the enemy, and public schools are there to make sure their kids don’t follow in their footsteps.
