@FearTheFloof is a great account we highly recommend following. If you’ll remember, @FearTheFloof ruffled a few feathers back in October by posting an epic thread about mainstream journalists and how they all seem to come from positions of privilege. Who knew that Vox’s über-Left self-proclaimed “Marxist pig” Carlos Maza’s mother and stepfather were tech billionaires?
The next day, @FearTheFloof was gone.
By some miracle, his account was restored a couple of days later. Is it because Twitter could no longer pretend that his account had been suspended solely because he pissed off some journalists by sharing publicly available information and not because he’d actually done anything wrong? And then the account was suspended again.

@Oilfield_Rando, who’s no stranger to Twitter suspensions himself, reports Monday that the Floof has been suspended again, reported over a minor insult after tweeting some wrongthink about Ukraine:
Yet another great account suspended for a mild insult in reply an to insult from a bait account with a mass report apparatus behind it.
This one was a long running pillar of a section of twitter, @elonmusk. And he was even a Blue subscriber.

The common occurrence explained:
1. Real account tweets something funny that goes against the Ukraine narrative
2. Weird low follower account replies with insults/threats
3. Original poster replies with mild insult
4. Original poster banned shortly after for mild insult

Firing nearly-all of Twitter wasn't enough. Needed complete demolition and rebuild.

It still floors me that mass-reporting schemes still aren't automatically filtered out as spam and likely harassment. Often they make heavy use of botting, and you can't seriously tell me that they haven't figured out how to spot that by now.
— WolvenOne (@Wolvenone) January 2, 2023
I mean, it's one thing if you're getting a report from a lot of disparate unrelated users. However, reports from bots or from people that are known to be affiliated with de-platforming campaigns should be ignored.
Like I said, the former isn't real and the later is harassment.

I thought this would’ve ended weeks ago, but it appears that there are still rats in the kitchen.

They won't give up Twitter that easily, it has to be wrested from them the hard way.

All of the censorship infrastructure pre-Musk remains post-Musk. Shadow-banning, search banning, reply de-boosting, all of it. And Musk himself has explicitly endorsed shadow-banning and de-boosting. Until that nonsense is removed root and branch, this platform is irredeemable. https://t.co/ZFPMgnLVBg

When you employ woke globalists to moderate content, you're always going to lose freedom of speech and money.
— Steve (@SNitzsche7) January 2, 2023
There are a lot of leftovers from old Twitter, it seems. Algos need tuned. It's like there's a war going on within for control of content.
— Cheryl Thaxton (@CherylThaxton) January 2, 2023
All of the censorship framework pre-Musk is still in place.
Shadow-banning, search banning, reply de-boosting, everything.
Aside from reinstating some accounts, nothing has actually changed.

Mods that are abusing their power need to be smoked out and fired. Hopefully, there is a log of who has banned what accounts, and those that are found to be doing the abusing dealt with. Watching others get fired *might* give others pause, and cause them to act more judiciously.

No more automated bans. I got banned for TWO WEEKS for saying that NYT “writers deserve a kick in the balls”

I hate cats, but this account was an exception.
