We just finished a post about Congress getting ready to send $12 billion more in aid to Ukraine. You may agree or disagree, but at least Ukraine’s war with Russia is a real thing. This weekend was the Global Citizen Festival in New York City, and President Joe Biden and first lady Dr. Jill Biden were there — in the form of a pre-recorded video — touting the $369 billion allocated to fight climate change as part of the “Inflation Reduction Act.” Being the global citizen he is, Biden reminded the crowd that he’d pledged $11 billion a year to help poor countries fight climate change.
Biden: “I pledged $11 billion a year to help poor countries fight climate change.”

How can we be mad when our beloved first lady was there supporting her husband? Nice of them to appear on video so they wouldn’t get booed off the stage.

They can tie damn near anything to climate change. Nice “legal” money laundering scheme

Thank you. I was worried about Hurricane Ian this weekend. Thanks for stopping it.

Massive amounts of money with no auditing or accountability. Ripe for graft.

I’m sure the poor country’s people can’t sleep worrying about climate change.

Can't wait to see how the WH follows up with us to show how these countries used the money and the improvements made. 😏

In other words: “I found a way to explain why 11 billion of taxpayers money is missing”

I thought the bill was intended to reduce inflation?

I am sure they will use these funds for climate change 😂

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like poor countries could better use that $11B for things like: clean water, food, medical care, etc.

We didn’t ask you to.

Like most politicians, he is very generous with other people's money. It's a twofer really! Doesn't cost him anything, and he gets to look caring & considerate.

And we go broke. Nice job👍🏽

Which poor countries? Who’s going to ensure the money is put toward climate change? Are other countries making similar pledges? And how does this reduce inflation?
