Reuters: Man accused of assaulting Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick to plead guilty … to something else

As Twitchy reported, the January 6 select committee took some liberties with the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick during their primetime televised hearing the other night. Read this tweet from the committee:

The committee’s concern is about President Trump’s “glaring silence,” but did you catch that last part: “… who succumbed to his injuries the night of January 7th.” Except the medical examiner found that Sicknick died of natural causes — he didn’t succumb to his injuries. Even President Joe Biden piled on, saying that “lives were lost” and police were “dripping in blood” and “surrounded by carnage.”

Reuters reports Thursday that a man accused of assaulting Sicknick is to plead guilty.

While tens of thousands of followers will assume that George Tanios is to plead guilty to murdering Sicknick, Reuters reports:

George Tanios, one of two men who had been accused of assaulting police officers during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol including now-deceased Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to lesser misdemeanor charges.

Tanios, 40, appeared for a virtual hearing in U.S. District Court along with co-defendant Julian Khater. Tanios pleaded guilty to entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds and to disorderly and disruptive conduct on restricted grounds.

Sicknick died of natural causes following multiple strokes the day after then-President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol in a failed bid to block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory.

So they’re getting him on entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct.
