Last year we did a post on a Washington Post columnist who was fed up with the lack of abortions on TV. Kate Cohen wrote that she stormed into her daughter’s room after the sixth episode of the Netflix series “Atypical” and said, “Please tell me the therapist is not going to have that baby.” Her daughter then shrugged sympathetically and said, “Sorry, Mom.” Yeah, mom, sorry you didn’t get the abortion you wanted on TV.
This is apparently a deleted tweet, so we weren’t able to look it up and confirm it, but we’ve looked at Emily Seife’s timeline and have no reason at all to believe The Based Librarian would mock this up. Not only are there not enough TV shows normalizing abortion, but there aren’t enough young adult books normalizing abortion either. Seife is an editor at Scholastic Press, which publishes books for school-age children.

I couldn't find a single book to buy for my child that wasn't pushing social justice or a graphic novel or a useless gift set that isn't about reading over the past couple of years. I won't be buying from them anymore until the quality of the material improves.

This is the target because children are easier to indoctrinate than adults. Therefore, if Emily is able to spread her ideology among children, she can give herself a pat on the back as her cause will have more future adherents. The new proselytizers, same as the old ones.
