This is disturbing, and it’s the synergy of the New York Times and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. At Thursday’s press briefing, a New York Times reporter asked if the Biden administration would support taking back the PPP loan to the gun dealer that sold the rifles to the Uvalde school shooter. Instead of circling back, Jean-Pierre asked for the name of the business — we guess she was going to get on it right away.

Why? Did they break the law?
— Big Mo (@coltsdave13) May 26, 2022
Cause going after the business that did nothing wrong will bring those kids back 🙄🤦🏻♂️

The perp passed the background check. Either there were no issues or some government lackey dropped the ball.

Did the business do something illegal?
— JustMeTom (@thomashourigan3) May 26, 2022
How is this their fault?
— KMcAmerica (@KMcAmerica1) May 26, 2022
How does this question even occur to the New York Times reporter? It sure sounds more like a suggestion than a question.

That's not a reporter…

Activism instead of journalism

Punishing a business for a legal transaction, for the independent actions of a consumer… surely all see the problem here?
— ItsJustMe (@ItsJustMe44) May 26, 2022
Is the federal government going to target a small business for not doing anything illegal?
— СКЙЛЕР (@Fean0rse) May 26, 2022
Seems like the next logical step for this administration.
— Joe Higginbotham (@jrhiggy) May 26, 2022
That’s completely unconstitutional. It is vindictive and malicious. The person or company that sold those weapons if they did so legally was within their rights. They did nothing wrong and should not be punished for it.
Only one person was responsible for this tragedy.

Breaking: NYT “reporter” asks stupid question, no one surprised
— Ultra Journalist (Ret) – JOURN-L of Skrypton (@Magnum_CK) May 26, 2022
That journalist appears to be engaging in activism, not reporting. Activism for targeted, likely illegal governmental treatment.
— K245 (@AJHodgeIV) May 26, 2022
Jean-Pierre certainly did seem to appreciate the suggestion.
