Former Sen. Bob Dole can’t stand on his own, but on visiting former President George H.W. Bush’s casket inside the Capitol Rotunda Tuesday, Dole insisted on being lifted up so that he could stand and salute the man who was his longtime political rival but also a fellow World War II veteran.

Now that’s class.
This is what respect looks like. He’s frail and yet wanted with all his being to stand and show respect.

Wow! I am at lost for words! This is the United States of America I know and love! These are the two men the inspired my own public service career. These are the first two #RepublicanParty nominees for President that I voted for (1992 & 1996). God Bless the Greatest Generation!

What a great man. One of the proudest votes I ever cast was for Sen. Dole in '96. He would have been a wonderful President. I will never get to thank him and shake his hand, probably, but sure hope he knows how deeply grateful so many of us are for his service to our Country.

Wow. I never saw Dole look like that. He truly admires President 41. He humbly thanks him for everything. Jimmy Stewart couldn't have shown a more honest display of an Authentic man.

He's running.

Second look at Bob Dole? After this display, a most definite yes.
And now, the inevitable Slate pitch, now that they’ve done a hit piece on Sully the service dog:
Actually he didn’t stand, he was lifted. @Slate
