Remember when CNN was just a curiosity you used to see when you were stuck at the airport? It was kind of cool to have round-the-clock news coverage.
But now it seems like every time we check in with someone from CNN, they’re criticizing Fox News, which sits comfortably at the top of the cable TV ratings. We know that CNN’s Oliver Darcy and Brian Stelter do plenty of monitoring of the competition because they just can’t shut up about what Fox News is doing.
Jumping on the narrative that President Trump should take responsibility for the mail bomber and the Tree of Life shooter, Stelter again pointed the finger at Fox News, blaming the network for dividing the country.
CNN's Brian Stelter: I Hope Fox News Is Doing Some 'Soul Searching' in Dividing the Country https://t.co/trYptlxoBB pic.twitter.com/tlW3lheFjY

Ken Meyer reports for Mediaite:
As Stelter talked to Alisyn Camerota and John Berman on how Trump continues to attack his enemies in order to deflect from his political vulnerability, he ended up talking about how often the president parrots the talking points of his favorite Fox News hosts.
“I sure hope some of those fox hosts, some of those commentators take a moment, take a minute to think about their role in this environment,” Stelter said. “Hopefully there is some soul searching right now in the wake of [the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting].”
Why can’t Fox News be more like CNN, and bring on guests who accuse President Trump of radicalizing more people than ISIS? You know, responsible, unbiased journalism.
Dana Loesch reminded Stelter of the two-minutes hate his network held just one week after the mass shooting in Parkland, Fla.
Do you remember the townhall your network hosted? https://t.co/bDMpdiMFSv

I do…it was disgraceful
— @atchc (@atchc2) October 30, 2018
You mean the one where they allowed guests to compare Marco Rubio to a mass shooter and you had to leave under cover of a security detail? That one?
It's cool… I'm sure @brianstelter and the cast of characters @CNN did some soul searching afterwards for dividing the country.

You mean the WWE event that held up a 17 year old girl as the next major revolutionist of our time and since has slipped into obscurity. That town hall?
— Tom (@elctrceye) October 30, 2018
I wish I could RT this a 1000 times. I warned @jaketapper that the Townhall hosted exclusively by CNN was a terrible idea… before they held it.
And well we know how it went.
— Mickey White (@BiasedGirl) October 30, 2018
@FoxNews is dividing the country? Why? Because their coverage let’s us think for ourselves instead of shoving their opinions down our throats? Hmm ?
— Angela (@cntrygrl1026) October 30, 2018
This kind of tone deafness by @brianstelter is the kind of thing that infuriates Americans. Just say there is bias and wrongdoing on both sides and move on. There should be NO BIAS in straight journalism.

Bias? Yeah, check out this chyron:
#FakeNews divides the country. What is getting blamed on @realDonaldTrump today? pic.twitter.com/P3AsrUgZIl
— cheryl hoekstra (@cheryl_hoekstra) October 30, 2018
In @brianstelter's word, having an opposing viewpoint, the ONLY opposing viewpoint in the mainstream media, is "dividing the country."
This is what happens when you elevate simple-minded people at your network @CNN. They produce simple thoughts.
— Rusty Weiss ??? (@rustyweiss74) October 30, 2018
Pot, kettle, black.
CNN should be doing just as much, if not more, soul searching.
— DeuceFive with a tainted asterisk (@DeuceFive25) October 30, 2018
Lol! Potato Head cracks me up! @CNN is so right down the middle. Is that right @brianstelter? CNN with 20 different panels a day with a token so-called conservative to bash on each panel. You are just nuts Brian.
— Steve Carson (@sellwithsteve) October 30, 2018
@brianstelter: It’s not me, it’s you!
Division = @brianstelter + @Acosta. Don’t blame @FoxNews . If anything they are lowering the blood pressure and anxiety of 4 out of 10 Americans. @CNN can be positively correlated with increases in mental health issues. Keep it up.— CommunityLaughs (@CommunityLaughs) October 30, 2018
Ain't this rich? This is like a drug cartel kingpin complaining about the drug epidemic and wondering if a much smaller rival cartel sleeps well at night because of guilt.
How delusional can you get?— Doriano Carta (@Paisano) October 30, 2018
CNN acts like a terrorist propaganda outlet. Completely unreal.
Shame on you and your gaslighting @brianstelter. Soulless ghoul.

Brian Stelter calling on ANYONE else to engage in some soul searching is the poster child for lack of self-awareness
— Arqahn (@Arqahn) October 30, 2018
It is absolutely stunning that Mr. Stelter does not see the damage CNN has done to the American political process.
— The Colossus of N.Y. (@ColossusofNY) October 30, 2018
@BrianStelter, @OliverDarcy and most of the rest of @CNN are basically just Media Matters at this point.
Under the ridiculous guise of being "neutral" and "straight news."https://t.co/tnKU11T2Uw

This is what losing looks like folks, CNNs ratings are so bad and this is their answer, LOL #helterstelter
— Chitwood (@Jimmyncincy) October 30, 2018
I hope tater & cnn are doing some soul searching when trying to determine how to beat out cooking network re-runs in this months ratings. #cnnsucks

— GEORGIA DEPLORABLE (@Schnowzerz) October 30, 2018
@brianstelter is projecting. Big time. I realize that the first priority is to protect the company or whatever, but I would encourage that network to do some serious self reflection coverage-wise from the last two years before the Home Shopping Network passes them in ratings.
