A 28-year-old Norwegian man on vacation in Maine was arrested Wednesday after allegedly emailing and tweeting threats to shoot and kill as many police officers as he could, seemingly pulling details from the Dallas sniper attack that left five police officers dead to flesh out his story.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Espen Brungodt was arrested at his hotel Wednesday afternoon, unarmed, after emailing threats to “kill more police,” calling himself “we” and claiming that he and his partners were getting their Sig Sauer MCX .223-caliber rifles ready and getting into position at the top of the police department’s parking garage.
The newspaper contacted a man believed to be Brungodt’s father, who said that his son has Asperger syndrome and is “not a threat to anyone, except himself.”
