SCHOOLED: Student sentenced to reeducation camp for posting 'All Lives Matter' on Facebook

Hillary Clinton managed to wriggle her way out of answering the question, “Do black lives matter, or do all lives matter?” when it was asked during CNN’s Democrat debate last fall, but like many progressive ideas, she’s since managed to “evolve,” embrace the phrase, and pretend that it’s been her stance all along without being called out by the media.

Unfortunately, those in student government aren’t necessarily afforded the same free pass, or aren’t willing to compromise to be granted one. KPRC reports that a student government vice president at the University of Houston is facing reeducation after posting, “Forget #BlackLivesMatter; more like #AllLivesMatter” to Facebook.

Rohini Sethi not only was suspended from all student government events for 50 days; she was also sentenced to attend a unicorn-tear tasting event called the Libra Project Workshop, attend a minimum number of cultural events on campus, write a “letter of reflection” detailing the impact of her Facebook post on the university, and give a presentation “detailing the knowledge she has gained about cultural issues facing our society.”

We certainly have an idea of an important cultural issue facing our society: the creeping fascism on college campuses that calls for the banning of speakers and the creation of healing spaces for those harmed by words with which they disagree, all while journalists are physically threatened and guest speakers shut down by protesters.

There is one bright spot: KPRC adds that “Sethi responded to the sanctions saying that she disagreed with SGA’s decision.” Presidential candidates might have caved to the pressure, but this vice president appears to be standing firm.
