There’s a simple irony to the fact that of all magazines, TIME has selected the “inventor” of a digital clock as one of the most influential teens of 2015. Ahmed “Clock Kid” Mohamed, by the way, made his clock fit inside a pencil case where one couldn’t see the readout anyway, making it as informative as the latest issue of TIME.

He did influence his school to call the police after he reportedly kept setting off the alarm in class and refusing advice to put the device away.
