When the Center for Medical Progress released the first of its now 10 undercover videos showing the inner workings of Planned Parenthood, the abortion provider reflexively dismissed the video as “heavily edited.” When that excuse didn’t fly, the organization hired three teams of forensic analysts to warn Congress that the videos were “so distorted” and manipulated that they were inadmissible as evidence.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, has announced that he has subpoenaed from the Center for Medical Progress “all unedited video footage in their possession relating to the acquisition, preparation, and sale of fetal tissue.”

Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation want to hide their activities from the American people. This subpoena is a demand for transparency. The action of the court will not thwart or impede Congress’ Constitutional duty and right to conduct effective oversight. The Committee will continue its investigation into funding for Planned Parenthood and will hold a hearing on federal funding for the organization later this month.

The National Abortion Federation in July filed a lawsuit to keep the videos out of the public domain, suggesting the videos threatened the safety and security of its members and patients.
It’s a start?
@GOPoversight @jasoninthehouse GOP will do NOTHING about Planned Parent with the exception of SOUND BYTES. 2014 was a mistake.
