Municipal Labor Day parades held across the country today are being dwarfed by what CNN is reporting is an 18-mile-long funeral procession for Officer Charles “Joe” Gliniewicz, who was shot dead in the Chicago suburb of Fox Lake Sept. 1 following a traffic stop. A manhunt for his killers continues.
A candlelight vigil for the Army veteran, husband and father of four boys was held Sept. 2 and attracted overflow crowds to a Fox Lake park.
