Rep. Tom Cotton: Let's prohibit Gitmo detainee transfers for one year [video]

Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) proposed an amendment Thursday “to reclaim, in principle, [Congress’] constitutional authority” following the release of five Taliban leaders from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for Bowe Bergdahl. At issue, among other things, is the  requirement for the president to give Congress 30 days notice before the movement of any Gitmo prisoners.

On CNN on Friday, Cotton again blasted anonymous White House staffers “who spent the last 10 years patrolling the mean streets of the Georgetown party circuit” who disparaged the other soldiers in Bowe’s platoon.
