Rapper Snoop Dogg, née Calvin Broadus, revived his “No Guns Allowed” campaign at a fundraiser Thursday with a little help from MC Hammer, Joe Montana, Diana Nyad and others.

And this one.

But this is the kinder, gentler Snoop Dogg.

It certainly was an eclectic group, in that it managed to include a rapper with a record of multiple arrests for possessing a firearm. Michelle Malkin has the lengthy rap sheet at her site, including these highlights:

  • 2006 – Arrested in October at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California in possession of marijuana and a firearm.
  • 2006 – Arrested in November for possession of marijuana and a firearm after performing on The Tonight Show.

What’s dangerous is that Broadus’ “No Guns Allowed” push seems to be as influential as his earlier gangsta persona was.
