President Joe Biden has announced that he intends to serve as Commander in Chief until he’s 86, and the DNC has announced that there won’t be any primary debates. That’s pretty shocking — are they that afraid that Biden will show his age? It’s ridiculous.
On the Republican side, Donald Trump has pretty much said he’s not taking place in the primary debates — why let the moderators lie about you?
As everything Trump-related is these days, the question is whether Trump thinks he doesn’t need debates to win the primary or whether he’s afraid to debate; as usual, the Trump and DeSantis camps are weighing in.
Trump is right! The debates will be totally RIGGED against Trump.
Trump haters Neil Cavuto and Brett Baer “moderating” the first debate? What a joke! They’d be just as bad as Chris Wallace was! pic.twitter.com/zogF83g0d4

“NO!” is pretty clear.
Indeed. They're as bad as any liberal moderator would be. They're united in making sure the people's candidate does not win.

He said, "No." Love it.
The leftists in this country are not interested in a fair and reasonable debate at any level.

I've been saying this for months
He doesn't need to do any debates because we know how he will govern already
Let Chris Christie and the rest of the back benchers go at it for 2nd place— Vince Langman (@LangmanVince) April 25, 2023
So if the Dems can announce they will not be doing Debates, so can Trump! He can do rallies and town halls! Don’t fall into their trap President Trump. @realDonaldTrump

We no longer need debates to be hosted by the legacy media. Especially primary debates. Trump should insist on primary debates that are hosted independently on Rumble or YouTube

Trump has all the power. No need to go on these decades old rigged debates.

Trump is musing about pulling out of the debates on the theory that his lead is "insurmountable" nine months before the first vote is cast. | @baseballcrank https://t.co/rbUIlUd7rC

Probably a mistake, as the debates get free air time. Something the Democrats need to consider, imho.

Usually when candidates duck debates it's because they think the debates will hurt them. If Trump is trying to duck debates in 2024 that's a huge difference from 2016 when he was eager to get in them in order to hurt the other candidates. https://t.co/RmghpDyNTy

I'm sorry I just don't buy the idea that Trump's primary will be a cakewalk. He may win, probably has a 50 percent chance of winning at least, but he isn't acting like he's confident about it.
— Zaid Jilani (@ZaidJilani) April 25, 2023
His debate performance in 2016 was strong. The difference though is that other people have watched him and taken him seriously for years now so they probably know how to respond to him better now than they did then. https://t.co/myVWyqGQUh

There's also a risk for Trump for avoiding the debates, DeSantis becomes the de facto Trump and all the other candidates pile on him. He does well in debates and his star rises.

So, he's a coward who thinks he's entitled to the nomination. Got it.

If everything is rigged, nothing is rigged.
He's proving himself to be a coward, as well as a loser.

Already hedging his bets for a poor performance.
Winners don’t need excuses. Losers do.

Dude, if Trump can't handle Cavuto and Baier, how in the f-ck is he gonna survive the Presidential debates when the moderators will be from far less friendly legacy media outlets?
— AdamInHTownTX (Not a Biologist) (@AdamInHTownTX) April 25, 2023
Will Trump and Biden even agree to debate each other if Trump turns out to be the nominee? Don’t forget the talk of Biden not debating Trump in 2016. Trump could claim the moderator is biased, and Biden could happily hide out in his basement in Delaware.
