Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg gave a press conference Tuesday after Donald Trump was arraigned and charged with 34 counts that would be misdemeanors, but with a little charge-stacking can be made a felony. A reporter asked Bragg why that mystery felony charge wasn’t included in Trump’s indictment, and Bragg answered that the law didn’t require him to.
Alvin Bragg was able to elevate the 34 counts to the level of a felony by saying they were to “conceal another crime” but didn’t include the crime he claims was being covered up in the indictment because “the law does not so require”

Bragg seems to think the big crime here is Trump trying to influence the outcome of the election by concealing information — which certainly doesn’t sound unique to Trump. But what federal statute does that violate?
There's a curious omission in the Donald Trump indictment and statement of facts –
The specific federal law Trump violated. pic.twitter.com/bsM32x4jhn

Normal people reading Trump indictment:
Wait, so what law did he violate?

Legally insufficient and quite a 🎪

Been saying this for a week now. How can they felony enhance these charges with out a prior felony conviction, or charging him with the separate felony.
And secondly anything to do with the federal election if federal jurisdiction, which Bragg has no authority to charge him with.— Caleb (@CalebBrunelle1) April 4, 2023
Great catch. It’s hard to include a violation of the law when there isn’t one.
— Murray 🇺🇸 (@Rothbard1776) April 4, 2023
Of course Bragg didn't list the specific Federal law. He gets 8 more months trying to find one Trump violated.

I think they couldn’t find the PC for Orange Man Bad
— Justine (@BruinJustine) April 4, 2023
Bragg was just asked during press questions what the specific law is and claimed he doesn't have to cite a law!

I don’t understand how this even works. In the case of these charges, wouldn’t the commission of the ancillary offense (and that offense being a felony) be an essential element of the offense that would have to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt?
— Lord Palmerston (@RHPalmerston3) April 4, 2023
Wow. This really is all about Hillary losing.

Not to mention, it appears 45 wasn't even in NYC on any of the dates listed in the indictment.

Interesting how a Republican election campaign is characterized as a "scheme" to "influence the election."
— Trump_2024 (@J741258) April 4, 2023
If trying to hide negative information about a candidate for any office is a felony, then there should be a whole lot of people sweating in DC right now.
— Nuclear Herbs (@NuclearHerbs) April 4, 2023
Barr said on Fox News there is nothing here. Jarrett says same thing. Where's the crime??? It's a copy and paste 34 times. This is a bad joke! And they want to start trial Jan 2024 in the middle of campaign season?! Bragg needs replaced.
— Dele (@deb_helf) April 4, 2023
The next court date is December 2023.
That means this will most likely drag until the election.
That seems to be the purpose of the indictment.Once the election is over and votes are cast they wont care what the verdict is.
— Starfish Prime (@StarfishPrime12) April 4, 2023
In his press conference I think Bragg is claiming the hidden felony is defrauding NY voters in 2016 by hiding negative information to further his candidacy.

The D.A. says it's campaign finance in New York. I'm not a lawyer but man does this case seem weak sauce or what
— Skadi (@Skadi649631) April 4, 2023
So then why wasn’t Hillary arrested for orchestrating and paying for false information to ensure her political win?
— Ireene Almayda (@IreeneAlmayda) April 4, 2023
I have never seen an indictment where no crime is alleged. It repeatedly mentions false entries to cover up a crime, but never alleges an actual crime.

1) HOLY SHIT…
Bragg claims he is aware of other mystery crime(s) Trump committed, in order to elevate these bookkeeping misdemeanors, but Trump has not been convicted of any other crimes.
Wouldn’t Bragg have to prove the prerequisite crime first?
Let’s break this down. https://t.co/c1Nj7tTzkr
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
2) Firstly, it’s absolutely insane that Trump just got slapped with process charges for a mystery prerequisite crime that Trump hasn’t been informed of.
If the initial crime isn’t legitimate, these 34 charges are misdemeanors. How is the initial crime not given to the defense?
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
3) Secondly, the crimes Bragg claims Trump committed happened while Trump was President of the United States.
I don’t think the most powerful man on Earth manages his ledger. These are minor bookkeeping crimes that Trump didn’t even commit.
Jaywalking is a more serious offense. https://t.co/EgI6CIPUSB
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
4) According to Bragg, “the law does not so require” that he tell us the other crime(s) Trump committed.
Not that he CANNOT tell us, that he is not “required” to tell us.
Meaning they are able to tell us, and are CHOOSING to withhold the initial crime(s)…
Why?
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
5) The Manhattan DA have been leaking EVERYTHING throughout this entire process.
You all really think there are other unsealed indictments with Trumps “REAL” crimes, and they managed not to tell CNN this whole time?
Lol. IMPOSSIBLE 😂
They would have told us IMMEDIATELY. pic.twitter.com/mwQDuFeMDx
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
6) So what did Bragg prove?
According to New York State law, Bragg can indict former Presidents for process crimes they didn’t commit, over a crime he doesn’t have to tell us about, or prove in the court of law.
Theoretically, he could just make one up.
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
7) But if Trump is this “serious criminal”; why wouldn’t Bragg tell us the other crimes Trump committed?
Because these aren’t legitimate criminal charges. It’s a media trial. It’s a political stunt.
The “crime” is irrelevant to them. It’s about generating negative headlines. pic.twitter.com/wTHhjmCsyJ
— Clandestine (@WarClandestine) April 4, 2023
8) That’s why Bragg is not telling the alleged mystery crime(s) Trump was “covering up”.
Because this isn’t about “justice” or the “rule of law”. This is about “getting” Trump.
This is just another institute weaponized by the Deep State to conduct election interference.
