First, it’s time we give Ja’han Jones some name recognition. He writes Joy Reid’s “Reidout” blog for her, so she gets to take all the credit, when in reality it’s Jones embarrassing himself over and over again on her behalf.
Second, whenever we hear the words “election disinformation,” we think of how the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story was censored right before the 2020 election on the basis that it was “Russian disinformation.” Never forget how the previous owners of Twitter and the mainstream media killed that story for the sole reason it would hurt their candidate.
OK, so what’s this now? The Biden administration tried to combat election misinformation, but the GOP killed it?
Here's how the GOP left Americans vulnerable to a deluge of disinformation ahead of Election Day. https://t.co/oanFmOXnen pic.twitter.com/cgiMCrLXUK

Tell us more:
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Biden administration did devise a way to combat this flood of illiberal disinformation — and Republicans killed it ahead of the midterms. In April, the administration announced the creation of a Disinformation Governance Board that would help combat immigration-related disinformation and other disinformation pushed by bad actors internationally.
As I wrote back in July, Republicans tellingly framed this board as a method of suppressing conservative speech and pushed dubious claims about Nina Jancowicz, the disinformation expert the Biden administration chose to head the board. The ginned-up controversy was enough to prompt Jancowicz to resign from the board, and for the DHS to dissolve the board entirely. The disinformation board was killed by disinformation.
What a shame. Seems like it’d be pretty helpful today.
“Dubious claims” about Nina Jankowicz? Like the “claim” that she tweeted that the Hunter Biden story was “a fairy tale about a laptop repair shop.” She was supposedly the Mary Poppins of disinformation and let that slide past her? Wonder why.

Really?? The Disinformation Governance Board? That's what would have prevented you from losing?
Then if it's so righteous, why did head of DHS say he didn't know about it or the people appointed to serve on it? & then why did he immediately dissolve the board? He's a Dem right?

It’s funny how Democrats are suddenly big fans of the Ministry of Truth. Tell us more about how the Disinformation Governance Board could have tilted the midterms toward the Democrats.
