January 6 committee hires a network news vet to make its prime time hearings a blockbuster event

As Twitchy announced all the way back in January, the January 6 committee was considering holding hearings in prime time, to reach maximum exposure. It’s fine with us if they want to go up against Tucker Carlson, and they will start this Thursday, with their first televised hearing in prime time. They want to make sure it comes across as a blockbuster event, and Axios reports that they’ve finally settled on James Goldston, the former president of ABC News who ran “Good Morning America” and “Nightline.” Goldston’s job is “to hone a mountain of explosive material into a captivating multimedia presentation.”

“At least two of the broadcast networks will interrupt evening programming for live coverage anchored by ABC’s David Muir and CBS’ Norah O’Donnell. NBC will announce plans soon,” Axios reports.

Goldston famously spiked the Jeffrey Epstein story.

Who cares if the broadcast networks break into the hearings? Tucker Carlson will own the night as usual, and we’re sure he has plenty of counterprogramming ready to go.
