Student group at Howard University demands that Trump be banned as a direct threat to its safe space

That ugly dust-up between Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and “protesters” who taunted her and physically blocked her from entering a D.C. public school could have been avoided had the school district simply imposed and publicized a blanket ban on DeVos entering any school buildings beforehand.

It’s a tribute to the forward-thinking leaders of tomorrow at Howard University, then, that Concerned Students, 1867 has, among other demands, stipulated that the school ban President Donald Trump from all school buildings — that’s one sure way to avoid any awkward scenes should the president think about stopping by with another truck full of taxpayer money.

The group also demands that the school declare itself a sanctuary campus, but Howard is far from unique in that regard.

The students might claim not to need any additional federal funding, but it could be a sticking point for the university’s administrators.
