'Lamest marketing campaign ever': Spotify offers to 'Canadify' music for US election refugees

Times must be tough. We remember when practically every celebrity was promising very vocally to move to France if George W. Bush were reelected. (He was; they didn’t.) This year, though, Canada is the destination of choice for Lena Dunham and others who are vowing to flee the country if their candidate is sent packing.

Spotify, the streaming music service that originated in Sweden before spreading worldwide, is trying to tap into America’s political angst with its new site, choosingcanada.com, that offers to “Canadify” users’ playlists. Sure, it’s just a marketing gimmick, but it’s the Lena Dunham of marketing gimmicks.

The site even draws from a (nonpartisan) selection of tweets to show the dilemma Americans are facing.

So, how well does the “Canadify” function work?
