Twitchy readers are very familiar with the Kangaroo Court known as the January 6th Committee. They recently had a unanimous vote to subpoena former President Trump. Following the unanimous vote, Liz Cheney wanted the vote along with the names of those who voted for it on record, and blue-check Professor, Heather Cox Richardson, thought this was as consequential as those signing The Declaration of Independence. As you can imagine, that led to quite a bit of amusement on Twitter.
Vote is unanimous. Cheney demands a recorded vote. (Good for her!!!) So there will be a list. (This is like signing the Declaration of Independence.) #HATH

Her bio says she is a historian and a professor. A literal historian is comparing a record of a unanimous vote on what seems to have become nothing but a ‘KANGAROO COURT’ to the signing of The Declaration of Independence! Once in a while we see something so shockingly stupid it renders us wordless. This is one of those times.
We found one user that decided to make a whole string of comparison tweets and we admit we cackled like Kamala Harris in an uncomfortable interview.
Heather hits a home run in Wii Sports. "This is just like Roger Maris' 61st!"

Heather finds a Chicken McNugget shaped like a dinosaur. "This is just like making Jurassic Park."

Heather discovers secret door in her home. "This just like Columbus discovering the new world."

Many others just pointed out that Heather seems to be a clown rather than a historian.
A kangaroo court made up entirely of people who already made up their mind, after an impeachment led not by the Chief Justice but a democrat senator.
I'm laughing at who is allowed to call themselves 'historian' these days. pic.twitter.com/NUKmytosKg

Most users could just not get over the insane comparisons.
I despise Trump, but "like signing the Declaration of Independence?" There have, perhaps, been more asinine statements made, but not this year.

She studies "the contrast between image and reality in America, especially in politics".
Also, a last ditch effort by the J6 committee to "get Trump" is like the signing of the Declaration of Independence. 😂😂😂 https://t.co/mCx9kwNcC7

If you think this is "like signing the Declaration of Independence," you're an idiot.
If you're a historian and think this is "like signing the Declaration of Independence," you make idiots look like Stephen Hawking. https://t.co/2lFhbuXbGC pic.twitter.com/oGrt5GNuT8

LOL, you would have called the Founding Fathers insurrectionists and asked the Redcoats to burn every single house of anyone suspect of supporting them. https://t.co/LUhXogLiLl

This tweet was so spectacularly stupid we are having a hard time NOT believing she is a parody, but we did our homework and she is indeed an actual professor and she tweets stupid things regularly, maybe not as stupid as this one, but stupid nonetheless.
Maybe go take some EXTRA history classes before comparing anything to the Declaration of Independence next time Heather.
