President Biden addressed a crowd in Michigan today and apparently thought that the attendees (and the rest of America, come to think of it) had no idea what a supply chain was ten years ago:
BIDEN: "10 years ago, how many of you knew what the hell a supply chain was? No, I'm serious!" pic.twitter.com/K1BlDjtA2G

Well…we can start with anyone who’s ever worked at a job or consumed anything that was dependent on the, you know, supply chain. Which is pretty much most people. When the supply chain breaks down, it effects everyone.
It’s not exactly a complicated thought process. If the materials required to manufacture are unavailable or difficult to transport, the goods don’t get made or shipped. If the goods don’t get made or shipped, the wholesalers have nothing to supply. If the wholesalers have nothing to supply, the retailers have nothing to sell. If the retailers have nothing to sell, then the consumer has nothing to buy. And when all of this is happening, the workers who are reliant on the smooth operation of the supply chain may find themselves out of a job.
So yea, a lot of people know what the supply chain is and how it works, and have for a long time.

I'm thinking almost every working adult in the United States has always had a good idea of what a supply chain is.

The key phrase here being “every working adult”.
My God, is this what being on the public dole your entire life leads to? Not knowing something this basic about how the world works?

Apparently, yes.
I'm willing to believe that people who have worked their entire life in government, relying on their connections to get jobs, would not know what a supply chain is.

That does indeed seem to be the case.
Literally anyone who’s worked retail, or in a warehouse, or in shipping, or at any job other than Career Politician or Twitter Office Squatter.

Or been on a road or freeway. 18 wheelers gotta be delivering something

What ARE those 18 wheelers doing on the road? It’s a real mystery.

Learned beans, bullets, and bandages much more than 10 years ago.

It certainly didn’t go unnoticed that some members of the crowd probably are VERY familiar with the supply chain:

He's telling professional technical workers they don't know what a supply chain is. That one's a keeper.

Indeed.
