So, is it a safe assumption that your surveillance program has jumped the shark when the Germans think you’re being a bit harsh? (Reuters) – President Barack Obama sought to allay concerns from German Chancellor Angela Merkel about reported U.S. spying on European allies on Wednesday, and they agreed to hold a high-level meeting on the subject in coming days.

This comes after a spate of recent reports indicating that Merkel was about as pleased with the situation as McKayla Maroney was with her silver medal.
