ESPN pulls Curt Schilling off the air for remainder of the year over controversial tweet

ESPN removed former Major League Baseball star Curt Schilling from his position covering Little League broadcasts when outraged tweeters took issue with a meme he posted to his Twitter timeline in August comparing Nazis to extremist Muslims.

Schilling quickly deleted the tweet and offered his apologies, replying to a disappointed fan that the tweet “didn’t come across in any way as intended or interpreted.”

Today, ESPN announced that Schilling would be suspended for the rest of the year.
