Funny thing is, there are a lot of right answers for what went wrong.
Many posters say the modern Democrats have shifted so far to the left that 1990s Democrats sound surprisingly Trump-like on most issues.
I was one for most of my voting life, and I'm not even sure what happened. I keep wondering if it was there the whole time, and I just didn't see it. I see older videos of Hillary and Obama with the same positions on immigration as Trump currently has, so they were reasonable at one time. Were they authentic or faking it then? I really don't know. I'm glad I escaped the current madness though... I think the fact that I stopped watching TV news over a decade ago helped me see the light. The media propaganda has really made it spiral.

Democrats are stuck with their far-left throngs who keep pushing their few remaining sane members out the door.

It's more of a toxic relationship on a political scale.
1 - Stress and tension increase due to extreme factions that do not get their demands granted - leading to the Democrats becoming more critical, irritable, and aggressive. The Republicans often feel like they are "walking on eggshells" and may try to placate the Democrats to avoid a larger incident.
2 - Tension culminates into violent outbursts of the extreme factions. This phase is the peak of the violence and can feel like an "explosion". Physical attacks, destruction of property, verbal abuse, and threats.
3 - After the violence, the Democrat leadership become apologetic, loving, and remorseful, offering to control the radicals but only if certain demands are met. They may offer gifts and promise to change, creating a false sense of peace. Republicans feel a mix of emotions, including relief, anger, and hope, leading to denial of the severity of the violence and a belief that things will be different.

President Donald Trump has proven to be the only major candidate in memory to keep his campaign promises. This is part of the reason he’s despised by Democrats and establishment Republicans.
Another says it’s Democrats calling everyone they disagree with Nazis, fascists, and more. COVID did a spell on them, too. They loved the tyranny they inflicted.
The constant brainwashing and being told that the other side is Nazis will do that.

You must believe all or you’re not welcome. With the many extreme Democrat beliefs like open borders and transgenderism, they have lost droves of average Americans. And they have no way of ever getting those shunned voters back. What's happened to the Democrat Party can not be undone.
