Earlier, as part of CNN’s crackerjack Election Day coverage, Dana Bash noted that “democracy” was conspicuously missing from the list of the top five issues most important to voters. Not to be outdone, her CNN colleague — and, as it happens, her ex-husband — John King made an impassioned plea to viewers who still care about democracy and all things that are good and right in the world:

We can trust our local officials (unless they’re in, say, Maricopa County) enough. At the very least, we can trust them a lot more than we can trust CNN.

Self-abasement … does that work? CNN’s got plenty of that going on every day, but especially on Election Day.
That's hilarious! 😂https://t.co/aqyrLhKLc8

Bless John King. Bless Jake Tapper. Hell, bless all of CNN. They’re just too much.
