“King of the Hill” was canceled 12 years ago, but “The Simpsons” is still on. Because there’s no justice in this upside-down world.
So, while we’re left to speculate about what the good people of Rainey Street are up to these days, we know exactly what’s going on on Evergreen Terrace.
And we really, really wish we didn’t. Because it’s pretty ridiculous:
Professor @RBReich gives The Simpsons a lesson in economics this Sunday — and we *will* be taking attendance. pic.twitter.com/l6wzk2Ojpi

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, who embodied the American Dream, was deemed highly problematic. But Robert Reich, who embodies the Anti-American Dream, gets tapped for a guest-starring role?

Actually, even leaving aside Reich’s asinine politics, this is just a really, really bizarre move on “The Simpsons'” part. Reich’s not known for being entertaining. At least not intentionally …
Isn’t this supposed to be a comedy?

Last time we checked. It still is, just not under the traditional definition of “comedy.”
Now THAT'S funny! https://t.co/gUWvrh8T0z

It is … in a sad, pathetic, bless-their-heart kind of way.

That’s an eeeeeeeeexcellent way to think about it. “The Simpsons” has died on the table multiple times now. Maybe they’ve just decided that when they finally do go out, it’ll be not with a bang, but with a whimper.
And Robert Reich’s whimper will do nicely.
Oh God, the normies are going to become even more economically illiterate @SisyphusGoals. https://t.co/x0FigFbE1p

Only if they bother to tune in! And what are the odds of that?
How much was Professor Income Inequality paid for this? And no, I won't be watching. https://t.co/ZOQiBkcrz3

We don’t have that information, but it’s a safe bet that it’s enough to make a dent in some Gender and Womynx’s Studies major’s student loans.
I stopped watching The Simpsons over 20 years ago and nothing I've seen since has made me regret it. https://t.co/nEcmwJ0c5K
