Somehow, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff keeps getting elected, despite the fact that he’s a truly loathsome creature. How is this possible?
Something really shady must be going on. It’s the only explanation. Money in politics, stuff like that.
Which raises a question: why is Adam Schiff introducing a constitutional amendment to overturn the Citizens United decision?
The Citizens United decision enabled special interest groups to pour billions into elections and erode public trust.
Today, I'm introducing a constitutional amendment to overturn this disastrous ruling.
Let's get dark money out of our democracy. And return power to the people.

So. We’re still on the Citizens United thing, then, after all these years and all of Democrats’ various failed efforts to get it overturned. And now Schiff wants to not only get the decision overturned, but to enshrine in the U.S. Constitution that it can never happen again. Good luck with that, Adam.

Meanwhile, why is Schiff suddenly so concerned about this now, when Lord knows there are far more pressing issues on Americans’ minds? We’re not mind readers, so we can’t say for sure. But we also can’t help but notice that discussions about dark money have come up several times this week, because Democratic Sen. Sheldon “Whites Only” Whitehouse has been pretty vocal during the Senate confirmation hearings for SCOTUS nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.

The Fight Against Dark Money is kind of Sheldon Whitehouse’s political cause célèbre, which makes sense because he’s got a bit of a dark money problem himself.

Maybe Adam Schiff was just trying to do Sheldon Whitehouse a favor by shining a blinding light on the Citizens United squirrel in order to distract from the fact that dark money is a huge problem for Democrats.
A reminder: Senator Whitehouse is the king of dark money and dark money hypocrisy. He is an olympian in projection on this issue. https://t.co/mEtBiNKmNX

Democrats, heal thyselves. And for eff’s sake, stop being such obvious hypocrites about everything.
Unless you're also willing to stop unions from donating to political campaigns and PACs, get bent. https://t.co/h4PQmiwtZH
