The Olympic opening ceremonies have given us some fantastic media coverage by the very respectable and not at all pathetic NBC.
But as excellent as NBC has been on this, they could still do better. They’ve got a lot to learn from Chinese state-affiliated media on what constitutes quality journalism.
NBC needs to take a coupla pages from Global Times commentator Hu Xijin’s book. Because it’s not enough to lavish praise upon the Chinese government; it’s also essential to try to intimidate everyone on the ChiComs’ enemies list:
