'BREAKING' news from the AP: The Taliban have failed to appoint any women deputy ministers to their government

The Taliban have been back in control of Afghanistan for a little while now. How’s that been going?

Have they finally decided to join the 21st century and let women have a say in how things are done? Dare we be optimistic?

Apparently the Associated Press was optimistic at first, but now they’re just disappointed:

No women in the Taliban government? Say it ain’t so!

It’s not like the Taliban ever gave the AP reason to doubt that they’d elevate women to positions of power. Well, aside from all the sex slavery and the rape and the stonings and the decapitations, of course.

We can’t speak for the AP, but this is pretty much what we expected. Then again, we’re not journalists.

The best people.
