As Twitchy told you, South Bend mayor and likely presidential contender Pete Buttigieg is doubling down on his baseless attacks on Mike Pence. Pence and his wife Karen, for what it’s worth, have yet to return the favor:
Since some are asking: the last time we recall Pence even mentioned @PeteButtigieg was in 2015, after news that Pete came out, Pence said: “I hold Mayor Buttigieg in the highest personal regard. I see him as a dedicated public servant and a patriot" https://t.co/iNjrAzplQk
— Alyssa Farah (@Alyssafarah) April 9, 2019
Now, how can CNN frame this in a way that doesn’t make Buttigieg look petty and nasty and small? Real News™ always finds a way, and CNN’s Dan Merica has come through once again:
The feud between Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Vice President Mike Pence escalates https://t.co/tzk7UZeoRG pic.twitter.com/kXPQ0drFSI
— CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) April 9, 2019
The entire piece consists of a few sentences about Karen Pence questioning Buttigieg’s sudden problem with her husband and Pence spokeswoman Alyssa Farah’s tweet. The rest details Buttigieg’s series of character assassination attempts on Mike Pence.
But “feud.”
This is what CNN calls a "feud" https://t.co/Qqe5TrUmd6

It's not a feud. https://t.co/FMfuJkCpzg
— David Rutz (@DavidRutz) April 9, 2019
If you actually read past the headline, you’ll see there’s actually no feud. It’s just Buttigieg attacking Pence. That’s not a feud, that’s bullying. https://t.co/QACozIfjbk
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) April 9, 2019
Feud? Seriously?
— Nic (@gixnic) April 9, 2019
what feud?
— Adam P (@idrawrobots) April 9, 2019
If the other person isnt participating is it really considered a feud? LMFAO https://t.co/cXmbwS8eX3
— Kebeh Nayyeh (@KNayyeh) April 9, 2019
Not really a feud when only one side is throwing the punches
— William (@LastWordWilliam) April 9, 2019
You kinda need the other party to actually respond to the first to have a "fued".
Otherwise you're left with "man yelling at sky".
But you knew this before you hit "publish".

Of course he knew it.
They framed this the exact same way with Olympic figure skater.
Mike Pence:
Mayor Pete: He's a bigot.
Mike Pence:
Mayor Pete: He's going to electrocute me.
Mike Pence:
Mayor Pete: He's going to tackle me one day and try conversion therapy on me
Mike Pence:
CNN: It's a feud!— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) April 9, 2019
Pence: I think Mayor Pete is a patriot and upstanding public servant
CNN: https://t.co/0SrZ2zPD7t— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) April 9, 2019
Mayor Pete: fight me!
VP: Pass.
Karen P: "They've always had a great relationship."@Merica: LOOK AT THIS FEUD LOOK AT IT
— Friendly Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) April 9, 2019
It’s almost as if our brave Guardians of Truth aren’t so much interested in fighting fires as they are in trying to start them.
There’s literally no feud. Just a biased media trying to make one up
— Paul (@PaulZWaDC) April 9, 2019
Partisanship requires Merica to pretend that the VP and Pete Buttigieg are feuding. It's certainly not journalism.
— Friendly Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) April 9, 2019
It is to Buttigieg's beneft to pretend he's feuding with Pence. So, like a brave firefighter, CNN is all for pretending there's a feud.
— Friendly Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) April 9, 2019
Piece claims that a feud escalated because Karen Pence said of Buttigieg and the VP that "they've always had a great relationship."
Journalism means pretending this is a feud, which is what Buttigieg wants. In other words, @merica is jut a mouthpiece for a Democratic candidate. https://t.co/yWUP1dXiX3
— Friendly Gabriel Malor (@gabrielmalor) April 9, 2019
Pretty much.
“Why do people hate us?”
— Nothing (@BiggusNothing) April 9, 2019
It really is a mystery.
