And you thought you’d heard the last from the Lady Ghostbusters. Think again!
Melissa McCarthy, who starred in the film, is clearly still bitter that no one wanted to see the colossal flop. Naturally, she’s blaming sexism:

More from Yahoo! Entertainment:
When Melissa McCarthy signed on for the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters, she had no idea what kind of ridiculous backlash awaited her. As someone who doesn’t use email and avoids social media, the Oscar-nominated actress was unprepared for the virulent opposition to the female-centric film from a certain all-male sector of the internet. Two years later, she’s still baffled by it. Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment while promoting her drama Can You Ever Forgive Me?, McCarthy looked back on the strange campaign to sink Ghostbusters.
“I just don’t know why people are so afraid of women. It’s fascinating to me,” McCarthy told Yahoo Entertainment.
It’s fascinating to us that she thinks that take is anything but garbage.

Seriously. Nobody’s afraid of women. They’re just afraid of wasting their money on two hours of their lives they can never get back.
I just watched part of it on HBO or some channel and it was awful. If men acted with that script and performances I’d feel the same. I wanted to like it

I saw the movie, Mel. On a damn IMAX screen which cost me nearly 20 bucks. I wasn't scared of anything. I gave it a shot despite one of the worst trailers of all-time and it turned out to be a lousy film.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that it was a terrible, awful, sucky, reboot?
— Melanie Christiansen (@MelanieChristi2) October 25, 2018
Alternatively, it could just be that the movie was terrible… because it was.

Not afraid of women, just horrible and unnecessary remakes
— Glenn Amurgis (@gamurgis) October 25, 2018
There were/are lots of good movies with women in it, this unfortunately wasn't one of them.

Wonder Woman
Aliens (franchise)
Terminator 1-2
Mad Max: Fury Road
The Hunger Games
Etc, etc, etc…‘Afraid’ of women? Nah. Bad movies? Absolutely.https://t.co/rdrczx0der

No one's afraid of women. We're afraid of wasting 2 hours on a terrible remake of a classic. Stop making everything about sexism, lord.
