When will ThinkProgress trash THIS person's post-#Vegas 'thoughts and prayers'?

ThinkProgress is really good at being awful. And they’re certainly not about to make an exception for a tragedy.

In the aftermath of the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas, they couldn’t resist snidely dismissing those politicians who offered thoughts and prayers:

Rebekah Entralgo writes:

Rather than tackling the issue of gun control policies head-on, many lawmakers, including the president himself, have resorted to the “thoughts and prayers” rhetoric that has failed to enact any actual change.

President Donald Trump tweeted out his “warmest condolences and sympathies” to the victims and families this morning.

You know which other president tweeted out his thoughts and prayers?

Imagine that.

To be fair, the ThinkProgress piece also mentions “thoughts and prayers” tweets from Democratic politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Chris Murphy, as well as the tweet from Barack Obama. But here’s how the piece concludes:

“Thoughts and prayers” has been the go-to response for many Republican lawmakers in the wake of mass shootings. Many of these lawmakers receive generous donations from the NRA and have voted against sensible gun reform laws.

In other words, only Democrats’ thoughts and prayers are worth a damn, and at the end of the day, every act of gun violence falls squarely on Republicans’ shoulders.

Pathetic.
